Health Research Jobs description

A health research manager is generally responsible for writing protocols and monitoring studies, interacting closely with multiple investigators, solving issues that arise in the implementation and conduct of health studies, and managing one or more contract research organizations conducting trials. A health research manager also assists with issues impeding contract development with sites, works with sites to facilitate publications resulting from studies, and works with vendors to set up investigator meetings and advisory boards. The health research manager also works internally across teams and with different brands to disseminate information on the status of various health studies and current data regarding the health utility of a product. The health research managers should be able to collaborate with marketing and regional scientific associates to disseminate evolving data on studies within a program.

A health research manager is usually required to have a bachelor's degree in biologic or chemical sciences. A master's degree along with 2-3 years’ experience in health research is an advantage for most jobs. A health research manager should have knowledge of health trial design, analysis, and reporting. Ability to solve problems, working in teams, leading others toward defined objectives, and presenting composite data clearly, is also important.
