Research Analyst Jobs description
The research analyst studies past statistics and figures to predict future sales and gathers data on competitors, rival business companies, and collect the necessary information for deciding on the promotion, distribution, design, and price of products or services. He conducts market research surveys to determine consumer preferences, tastes and the ongoing trends in the market. The surveys can be conducted through mail, telephone, or by personal interviews. Analysis of public opinion and attitude towards a particular product or notion is also a part of the work of a research analyst. The research analyst maintains databases and regularly updates them with relevant information garnered from the interviewees. The interviewees can be high-profile businessmen or even a layman, depending on the type of audience the survey demands. The research analyst also creates presentation slides, and graphs to explain his or her researched information to the senior research analyst or the company heads.<strong>Requirements for the post:</strong>
- A bachelor's degree in the marketing field or business management is the minimum of requirements for being a research analyst. They would suit the entry-level research jobs such as the research associate, trainees or even salespeople.
- Those holding master's degree pertaining to research or have written a thesis on some field, are best suited for the job.
