A Research Specialist position is available immediately in the Granzier research group in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Health Sciences Center. The successful candidate will be an experienced, self-motivated individual with analytical and communication skills able to assist with daily lab operations.
The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine has established research excellence in five major focus areas including cardiovascular biology and diseases, complex disease biology and genetics, cancer cell biology, cell polarity and intracellular trafficking, and genome function. Duties & Responsibilities
- Advanced Molecular Biology skills (particularly protein analysis, Western blotting, Mass Spec, etc.).
- Assist in the design of experiments for research data collection.
- Compile data and generate computerized statistical data for analytical purposes.
- Maintain detailed records of studies conducted.
- Maintain quality control and lab safety.
- Work with researchers in the preparation and writing of research publications and research grant proposals.
- Train and supervise graduate students, postdocs, and lab technicians.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Working knowledge of advanced molecular biology techniques.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Insights in statistical analysis.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing).

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research experience; OR, Six years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology or related field.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with mouse models.
- Advanced experience in working with proteins.
