The Research Specialist in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Department of Medicine - Cardiology Division/TCRI, will assist with ongoing clinical research projects. Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will assist with patient recruitment and enrollment functions in active clinical trials.
Responsibilities include: assisting with recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling patients in active clinical trials; obtaining informed consents; performing routine assessments; collecting and entering study data, and ensuring accuracy of information. Additional responsibilities include scheduling subjects for visits; presenting project updates at clinical research meetings; updating regulatory binders; and assisting with sponsor visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of directly related research or clinical experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite including spreadsheet and database software programs.
*Demonstrated data analysis skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population.
*Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills.
*Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a dynamic work environment. *Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Experience with a Cardiology patient population.
