We are looking for a researcher/developer to work in Jaunts R&D lab on the next generation of immersive entertainment experiences. Our research covers many areas including computer vision, machine learning, structure from motion, volumetric rendering, compression algorithms, etc. We follow a hybrid approach to research, our goal is to develop practical solutions for real world problems that can be applied to large scale consumer applications. Most of your code will be in consumers hands one day. You will work alongside an excellent hardware team, computational photography experts, as well as machine learning experts. We are pushing the envelope and we are looking for a true innovator, someone who can think outside the box, and is willing to go for stretch goals.
What You Will Own:
Contribution and collaboration in the implementation latest high-confidential projects that involve machine learning and computer vision for XR experiences
Identify technical requirements and assist in project planning
Work within rapid-prototyping, iterative design and development environment.
Design and develop virtual and/or augmented environments using existing and future generations of XR software.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
MS/PhD in CS/EE or related technical field.
Strong background in either graphics or computational geometry.
Extensive experience with C and CUDA
Ability to research and prototype new algorithms and implement them in production-level code
Modern graphics APIs (OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, …)
Bonus Points For
Research background (SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ..)
Knowledge of linear algebra fundamentals and optimization
Experience in depth estimation, camera calibration, or volumetric capture.
Graphics and animation experience

The idea for Jaunt originated in early 2013 when one of our founders returned from an amazing experience at Zion National Park. What if he could go back there for a brief jaunt, at any time, from any place? The emerging consumer VR industry provides the mechanism to travel to virtual worlds.
