We are expecting you to put yournexpertise on the table and make fundamental contributions.nResponsibilities:n* Learn, explore, and research new machine learning algorithms innthe field of Reinforcement Learning.n* Develop state-of-the-art, multi-threaded and distributednalgorithms in C/ C in an agile manner.n* Implement prototypes of existing algorithms and new ideas in anhigher-level language like Python.n* Deliver code that accomplishes defined objectives for production.n* Stay informed on new developments in machine learning in bothnacademia and industry.n* Actively participate and present in machine learning/ data mining/ndata science conferences about our algorithms.n* Write papers and user documentation to promote the use of ournmethods and software.n* Communicate with other SAS professional staff in Testing,nTechnical Support, Education, Marketing, and other departmentsnEssential Requirementsn* Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics,nOperations Research, Mathematics or a related field.n* 3 years of industry or academic experience in Machine Learning,nOptimization or Data Mining and Statistical Models.n* Strong knowledge in machine learning especially reinforcementnlearning algorithms from an implementation standpoint.n* Strong knowledge of foundations of sequential decision making,nMarkov Decision Processes, Stochastic Processes and optimization.n* Solid knowledge of software development techniques, languages, andntools.n* Proficient in C/C programming, understanding data structures andndistributed computing. Excellent communication skills and thendesire to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.n* Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.n* Experience in open source Machine Learning tools like TensorFlow,nPyTorch, Chainer etc.nPreferencesn* Experience in Reinforcement Learningn* Strong publication record in top machine learning conferencesn(e.g. NIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD)n* Ability to implement distributed, parallel algorithmsnSAS looks not only for the right skills, but also for a cultural fit.nWe seek colleagues who will contribute to the unique culture thatnmakes SAS such a great place to work.
