NYSCF is seeking a Research Associate to join the automated stem cell differentiation and assay development team. This position will report directly to a senior NYSCF investigator and will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of stem cell biologists and automation specialists. We are seeking a highly self-motivated applicant with a strong interest in stem cell research. The person will have a strong background in human pluripotent stem cell culture, including directed differentiation. Specific experience with differentiation towards the pancreatic linage and/or the execution of immunological assays is considered a plus. Responsibilities: Perform routine manual cell culture work to support ongoing projects, including maintenance and directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. Perform automated cell culture work using the NYSCF Global Stem Cell Arrayu2122, including the directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. Perform protocol and process optimization utilizing an automated pipeline for media preparation and tissue characterization Assist with the establishment of immunological assays Assist with the establishment high throughput phenotypic assays Maintain accurate and complete records and protocols Communicate in written and oral form with a multidisciplinary team Minimum Job Qualifications BSc in Biology/Biotechnology, or other relevant field Experience with human mammalian cell culture is required Experience with directed differentiation towards the pancreatic linage is a plus Experience with automation systems is a plus Experience with immunological assays is a plus Able to analyze and interpret data and report findings succinctly Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment requiring occasional weekend work Level will be dependent on experience We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
