The University of Illinois College of Medicine has a position open for studying the pathogenesis of medulloblastoma (MB) and developing new molecular subgroup specific therapeutic approaches in MB. These projects investigate the roles of immune checkpoints in the development of MB and establish the logical basis for novel therapy using transgenic/knockout mouse models of MB.

Job Duties:

• Participate in designing cancer research experiments, teaching students and lab personnel, and lab meeting to enhance and promote research and educational activities, and assist the PI, collaborators and lab personnel with research and educational activities.


  • Formulate and conduct scientific experiments and analyses, performs complex data collection and laboratory techniques, analyze and evaluate test and research results, and monitor project developments on an ongoing basis, and propose and implement changes as needed.

  • Replicate, refine and add new research approaches based on project needs, and test, customize and implement new methods, procedures and techniques.

  • Prepare and write scientific findings and works for publications in peer-reviewed journals and grant applications, and present findings and works at scientific meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and good laboratory practice and maintain research records.

    Qualified applicants will hold a Bachelor’s degree in science or related field and a minimum 3 years’ intensive related research experience in cancer research (Medulloblastoma research preferred), role of immune checkpoints in cancer, cell biology. The University of Illinois may conduct background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
