This is a full-time position located in the administrative offices of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in Estherville, Iowa. Primary responsibilities are to collect, analyze, interpret data for research projects such as surveys of students, employees, labor market and demographic analysis, academic achievement results and student tracking initiatives. Successful candidate assists in developing procedures for collecting, analyzing and reporting data relative to current and projected student enrollments; leads in the creation and maintenance of college dashboards; tracks and reports institutional effectiveness and accreditation performance indicators; assists in multiple short and long-term projects; provides research design support as needed including the use of statistical software to aid in the interpretation of data; assists in reporting survey results. Position requires someone with exceptional ability to meet and interact positively with College staff and community members. Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions. % of Time Constant (67-100%) Essential Duties / Responsibilities 1. Collaborates with others to maintain tracking of indicators and benchmarks related to the college’s mission, strategic plan, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness. 2. Leads the creation of statistically sound research designs, assists in providing necessary data and general support for research and evaluation projects related to continuous improvement using both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies; responds to internal and external research requests while maintaining FERPA regulations. 3. Creates demographic data reports, workforce trend analysis and a variety of related information. 4. Develops survey instruments related to identifying needs and/or evaluations of various departments and programs across the college. Frequent (34-66%) 1. Gathers required data elements; provides reports of gathered data; analyzes data elements collected and takes necessary action to ensure data accuracy. 2. Leads all departments in obtaining data and timely completion of reports and informational requests made by the State of Iowa, U.S. Department of Education, Higher Learning Commission, and other agencies. 3. Manage databases for selective grants and institutional effectiveness requirements to facilitate required reports and surveys. 4. This position requires knowledge and demonstrated abilities in Microsoft Office and various other software products as well as the ability to collect and verify accuracy of data from various sources and independently conducts data analysis with minimum assistance and supervision. Occasional (10-33%) 1. Support Planning and Development staff with the submission process (surface mail and/or electronic for all grant, survey and assessment activities). 2. Assist with annual student assessment process, including report development and distribution. 3. Perform other special projects and duties as designed by the Vice President of Administration. 4. Provides data support for Grant Writer(s) and assists same in submission of applications for awards (Bellwether, Aspen, etc.) 5. Serve on assigned and voluntary committees of the college. Knowledge, Skills, and abilities: Computer literacy: understanding of and ability to utilize a personal computer, multiple software programs, with a skill level to create functions, calculations, pivot tables and various data features. Possesses excellent quantitative, analytical and communicative skills. Maintains attention to detail, accuracy and documentation. Ability to effectively design surveys and conduct academic and institutional research. Demonstrated knowledge with data extraction reporting tools relating to Ellucian Colleague and other data systems, ability to summarize it as needed for data reports, research projects, and data requests. Ability to read and understand written and oral instruction or communication. Ability to efficiently plan, organize and manage time; work collaboratively as well as independently, while responding in a timely manner to requests which require flexibility and prioritization skills. Special Demands: Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work, and repetitive motion constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the area of statistics, computer science, business analytics, behavioral sciences, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Two or more years of experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting data or research related work required. Must demonstrate an understanding of conducting academic research using quantitative and/or qualitative research methodology. Training and/or experience in statistical modeling and interpretation, with a strong foundation working with databases, spreadsheets, analytic and reporting tools. Organization, time management, relationship building, data analysis, report writing and communication skills are essential. Salary: $47,075 Fringe Benefits: Paid medical leave, vacation and holidays.
