The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Public Health Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a temporary part-time Research Assistant to conduct literary reviews in the new phase that will develop the final report on a Zika policy study. This entails assisting the Senior Research Assistant and other research investigators by performing research and experimentation support following established protocols. Specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, setting up and operating various scientific apparatus as needed; performing various clerical duties including typing, answering telephones, preparing correspondence, preparing and maintaining bibliographies as well as completing application forms; assisting with research projects; preparing and maintaining culture media reagents; ordering laboratory supplies; interpreting experimental test data; performing various editorial duties; reviewing and editing various materials for publication, preparing publication schedules, ordering books and other publications as requested; attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and training groups as requested; recording research procedures and results, maintaining records, codes data for input for electronic data processing inputs and retrieving data electronically.
The minimum qualifications for this temporary part-time position are as follows: high school diploma or equivalent as well as at least one year of work experience in a research setting. Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to maintain records and inventories. Any
relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority.
