How you’ll contribute:
The Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population is seeking a talented Research Assistant who is interested in economic and social welfare policy and programs serving vulnerable populations. We are looking for enthusiastic, intellectually curious candidates who want the opportunity to contribute to innovative policy-relevant research related to workforce development initiatives, especially apprenticeship programs.
Responsibilities:
Assist in administering surveys or questionnaires.
Collect, clean, and analyze data (including working with national datasets).
Use statistical methods and software.
Conduct literature reviews.
Help to prepare presentations, reports, articles, policy briefs, and other written materials.
Assist with scheduling and field work planning.
Prepare interview and meeting materials.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Support research teams in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing qualitative data.
Some travel may be required (5%-10%).
What you’ll bring:
The successful candidate will:
Possess a Bachelor Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Sociology, Statistics, Political Science, or other social science fields.
Prior experience with Stata, SAS or other statistical analysis software is strongly preferred.
Experience with NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or other qualitative coding software is preferred.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of working independently and in teams, and ability to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities.
Interest in Labor/Workforce Development.
Strong interest in economic and social policy and policy research.
Takes initiative to suggest improvements or innovations on assigned tasks.
Prior experience with online survey tools such as Qualtrics.
