Job Summary: Performs market research and analysis. Uses data to develop customer segmentation, customer insights to execute a marketing strategy designed to promote NEX businesses, and respond to patrons desires.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develops and analyzes store and customer segmentation data, providing shopper insights and guidance to merchandising, operations, and other departments.
Creates, implements, and analyzes a variety of custom market research to better understand customer behavior and recommend retail or promotional strategies to capitalize on opportunities or correct problems.
Collects, analyzes and maintains demographic database using information from DEERS to track trends on local patron base, segmenting market by activity. - Participates in the formulation of NEX business strategies. Develops and executes research plans to support/promote NEX business strategies.
Maintains liaison with internal (NEX) and external (NAF, command and community) counterparts.
Uses comparison shopper data, customer demographics and trend analysis to determine and influence market position within local community.
Supervise associates engaged in comparison shopping, advertisement monitoring, and internal/external communication.
Performs related duties, as assigned Qualifications: Requires a total of 6 years of combined experience:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience that was gained in administrative, marketing support and/or retail sales or other related responsible work that enabled the applicant to gain a knowledge of market research; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; and the ability to exercise mature judgement.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of education above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year degree in business, marketing, statistics, or social sciences for three years of general experience. BS degree in Statistics, Marketing or related field preferred.
Three years of progressive experience that provided a background in market research analysis that demonstrates the knowledge, skill and abilities required to perform the work requirements of the position that includes: proven market research analysis and reporting thru multiple methods of collection (polls, focus groups, surveys etc), interpretation of large amounts of data, various statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office, search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen including CRM programs, working knowledge of data warehousing, modeling and mining and strong communication and presentation skills.
