Aon is looking for an Industry Business AnalystAs part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by crafting innovative and effective solutions supporting Risk in Chicago, Illinois. The Industry Business Analyst will work with U.S. Industry Sales and Marketing to operationalize a growth strategy and measure new business activities in U.S. Industries and local office(s). The Industry Analyst will report to the North America Specialty Engagement Strategy Leader. The Industry Analyst will work closely with the Industry Leader(s) to operationalized local growth strategies with support from the North America Specialty Engagement Strategy Leader and team.Key Areas of Responsibility:1a. New Business Implementation & SupportWork with the Industry Leaders to identify the appropriate new business initiatives to activate in the local office, primarily with the Producers and Account Executives (Sales Team)Participate in meetings with the Industry Team to develop prospect identification and client penetration strategiesDevelop and distribute revenue, client acquisition activity, and benchmark reports (e.g., Local Market Analytics, Heat Map) that provide regional and local leadership with the supportive analytics need to implement strategic industry goalsProvide strategic mentorship and operational support to Industry Leaders; to include (not limited to) strategic valuation, collateral and implementation timelineProvide monthly and quarterly reporting packages for Industry Leaders; including financial and pipeline metricsResearch prospects and clients, using LMP, Heat Map, CRM, analyst reports, SEC reports, Yahoo! Finance, and related sources of informationIdentify with the Industry and Sales Team ideal prospects and clients for marketing campaigns; working collaboratively with Marketing assets to populate Aon Connect (“AC”)Implement Industry Sales initiatives at the local level; including, product, cross-sell and named account strategies, working closely with the National Sales TeamCoordinate annual business planning and goal allocation process with local office leadership and National Sales Effectiveness team1b. New Business Revenue Tracking & MeasuringProvide monthly and quarterly reporting packages for Industry Leaders; including financial and pipeline metricsDevelop and maintain pipeline composition reporting functionalities that reflect forecasted and ultimately recognized sales revenue, working closely with U.S. Finance to maintain accurate revenue pipelines to reconcile opportunity valuationCollaborate with sales and marketing colleagues to review marketing campaign efficiency reports and recommend actions locally that will improve efficiencyCollaborate with local marketers to ensure delivery of local eventsProvide operational assistance and strategic analysis to Sales Team and Pursuit and Creative Team (PaC) for prospect and client presentationsProvide operational support to the Industry Leaders by providing revenue analyses to include valuation of national and office performance to goal, prospecting activity, win rate, deal size, and sales cycle in general and by product and industry, using AC, resource identification, and follow-up communication, including any resource documents.1c. Aon Connect Management and AdministrationUse AC for all pipeline and jeopardy reporting; including developing industry reports and dashboardsWork closely with the AC development team to build improvements and efficiencies, including leading industry level tracking validityCoordinate with AC leadership on AC improvement requests and functional issuesServe as the office AC authority for support of AC users, including:Skills and Knowledge RequiredPassionate self-starter who can juggle multiple projects, follow-up and exhibit creative problem solving – ultimately delivering projects and assignments on target and on time within a fast-paced environmentStrong ability to work closely with various cross functional groups, specifically with the Industry Leaders, Sales Leaders, Marketing, Finance and National Sales Effectiveness TeamA creative problem solver who brings innovative ideas, fresh opinions and a wealth of passionExcellent verbal and written communication skills, social skills and relationship skillsProcess-oriented person who can provide a clear, complete analysis that support sales efforts, resulting in revenue win for the companyQualifications include bachelor’s degree in Business or related major, excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.).
