The Cancer Immunology Department is seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative Senior Research Associates to perform discovery research in the field of stroma immunobiology with an emphasis on inflammation, peripheral innervation and cancer. The successful candidate will implement a variety of tumor mouse models and cell culture techniques. He/She will use a variety of molecular, cellular, genetic, and pharmacological techniques to investigate mechanisms of cancer immunosuppression by the microenvironment and identify innovative therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will be expected to make intellectual as well as technical contributions. He/she will be expected to independently design, execute and analyze experiments, as well as frequently interact and communicate with other groups as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Candidates with demonstrable expertise in immune oncology, immune cell migrations or neuro-immunology will be given preference.
Experience with in vivo rodent models is mandatory, experience with clinical samples would be an advantage.
Qualified candidates will have an expertise in a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques as well as immunological principles and techniques including in vivo and ex vivo imaging techniques, isolation and culture of primary cells, Immune cell functional assays and migration assays and flow cytometry.
The successful candidate will have good oral/written communication skills and a track record of completing challenging technical problems independently and creatively, exemplified by publication of research in high-quality scientific journals to include at least one first-author publication.
Creative problem-solving, flexibility, and the ability to integrate detailed analyses into a larger disease-oriented context will be expected
The successful applicant will have a PhD in Immunology, Tumor Biology, Neurobiology, or a related discipline with a strong in vivo research background. Postdoctoral experience is a plus.
