North Bethesda health and human services consulting firm seeks senior level research director to lead fast-paced multidisciplinary research team that validates, analyzes and reports on data from federal child welfare reviews to enhance understanding of results in context of state child welfare programs and national program performance.
Research Director will be responsible for interacting with Federal clients and project leadership about child welfare information needs, translating those information needs into project analysis plans and guiding research staff in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of review data about state child welfare systems. Research Director will also be responsible for guiding and shaping development of client-ready reports of analyses and findings for a variety of audiences. Successful candidate will facilitate collaborative work environment for team of senior professionals while establishing clear team priorities to ensure delivery of accurate, defensible reports of findings on time and within budget.
Minimum Experience/Education Requirements
Doctoral degree in social sciences with expertise in research methodology and advanced statistical analysis required.
3-5 years of experience designing and conducting research/evaluation studies in federal contracting arena required.
Proficiency in SPSS and qualitative analytic software (e.g., Atlas.ti) required.
Ability to communicate research and evaluation findings clearly to a variety of audiences both orally and in writing required.
Understanding of federal child welfare reviews strongly desired (Child and Family Services Reviews, Title IV-E Foster Care Eligibility Reviews, National Youth in Transition Database Reviews).
Understanding of federal child welfare databases (i.e., AFCARS, NCANDS) desired.
Understanding of federal improper payments reporting and monitoring requirements, and associated regulations (i.e., IPIA, IPERA, IPERIA) desired.
Project management experience a plus.
