Email: Job Summary \u00a0The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Michigan is recruiting a Research Assistant Professor with capability to develop an independent research program in the area of radiotherapy, imaging, angiogenesis, apoptosis and cancer. The Department seeks an innovative individual with expertise in radiation physics and biology that will foster interdisciplinary collaboration between experts in radiation oncology, radiobiology, medical physics, imaging, proteomics, neuroinflammation, computational biology, and others. Responsibilities* The individual will focus on understanding the continuum of inflammatory mechanisms following radiation therapy for the mitigation of radiation-induced cognitive disorders using proteomic analysis with the goal of improving diagnostic and therapeutic techniques (e.g., rapid and efficient answers through mass data processing, integration of imaging), and identifying new radiation-induced anatomic and metabolic biomarkers to synergistically contribute to the development of novel imaging biomarkers, novel disease biomarkers and novel drugs that target these processes. Required Qualifications* Position requirements include a PhD in\u00a0Physics or related degree. Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in this area is also highly desirable. A successful publication and external funding history in work relevant to the programmatic focus of the position is essential. Background Screening Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
