Good product decisions begin with a deep understanding of user needs. Twitch’s user experience research team provides key insights that guide the product development process from ideation to launch, and conducts strategic generative research that shapes product roadmaps and sparks ideas for new features.
As a senior user experience researcher, you will help drive the research roadmap and prioritization across Twitch’s diverse product development teams, including features and programs for viewers, broadcasters and developers. You will use research findings to influence Twitch’s senior-most stakeholders, guide the development of key strategic initiatives, and inspire the creation of novel products and programs to address user needs.
Work with product leaders to prioritize research questions based on analysis of current knowledge, project goals, identified risks, and project impact. Identify best method or mix of methods to address research questions, with consideration for timeline and resources with minimal guidance
Build strong stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating with research teammates and product teams; make decisions based on a strong understanding of business, customer and design tradeoffs
Drive best practices in user research, usability and analysis; lead research and protocol reviews, and provide feedback and guidance to larger team; demonstrate thought leadership and influence both within the user research team and across the company
Advise senior management and product teams on research opportunities and best practices at all stages of an agile product development process
Lead strategic cross-company research initiatives and report findings to our executive team and other business leaders
Expert-level knowledge in a variety of industry-centric qualitative research methods, such as semi-structured interviews, contextual inquiries, usability studies, diary studies, unmoderated remote studies, paper prototyping and surveys.
Track record of producing impactful, high-quality research that shapes product decisions and influences stakeholders at the executive level
Understanding of qualitative analysis and reporting methods suitable for the fast pace of industry; ability to quickly shift the methodology and scope of research projects to meet short deadlines while collecting the best possible data and delivering actionable results
Strong examples of research leadership, including skill-building, research mentorship, and research program development
Background in HCI, sociology, applied anthropology, social psychology, design research or related field; advanced degree preferred
You have experience working on accessibility-focused research
You have direct research management experience
