The Center for Cancer Genomics (CCG) facilitates the design, execution, and analyses of cancer research projects through collaborations with investigators. We continually develop and adapt new technologies to accelerate discoveries in cancer genomics and apply these discoveries to improve personalized patient care.
CCG leverages a multitude of existing and new capabilities for comprehensive genomic characterization, computational analysis, and technology development. It brings together Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital (BWH) resources to pioneer new approaches for tissue biopsies, with the goal of facilitating the generation and clinical interpretation of tumor molecular data from clinical trials. CCG integrates and coordinates various research and clinical disciplines with the ultimate goal of creating a leading cancer precision medicine research enterprise.
Position Summary
We are seeking a research project manager to assist in overseeing and directing the workflows of cancer genomics research projects, including but not limited to patient sample collection through analysis of whole-exome and single-cell RNA/DNA sequencing across multiple cancer types. The research project manager will be responsible for day-to-day coordination and overall management of activities for assigned CCG projects, monitoring project plans, reporting on milestones, and maintaining quality across all projects. This individual will collaborate closely with senior project management, faculty, and staff at all levels throughout DFCI and BWH to ensure the highest standards of quality and execution of CCG projects.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask while working collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Critical to success will be excellent communication and analytical skills coupled with self-motivation and independent initiative.

Manage multiple studies from project implementation through follow-up data collection and analysis
Oversee project start-up and implementation, including design and optimization of work flow, in collaboration with senior project management and project investigators
Assist in database design and management, including study enrollment information, specimen tracking and reporting
Maintain database of all study components (research biopsies, sample processing workflow, genomic/molecular studies, data analysis, interpretation, reporting)
Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and data integrity of patient information, which may include medical and/or genetic testing information
Together with project leaders, schedule and develop agendas for team meetings and conference calls
Maintain updated written standard operating procedures, including regular meeting notes and project documentation
Help tabulate key metrics for reporting of progress reports, presentations at scientific meetings, and publications
Help prepare presentation materials such as slide decks that summarize study progress and efficiency metrics
Be the \u201cpoint person\u201d for multiple groups, both internal and external, to ensure study protocols are implemented as written


Bachelors\u2019 degree in public health, social sciences, or related field required
Master\u2019s degree preferred
At least one year of relevant experience
Previous experience working in clinical research, academic research, or similar environment required
Experience with database management required
Experience in cancer genetics a plus


Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent ability to work effectively across and with several groups and teams

Strong personal initiative and ability to work independently
