Social Research Jobs description

The social research executive has to liaise with clients to take instructions about the nature of the research to be carried out. He has to work on defining and refining research objectives and designing questionnaires. The social research executive uses an appropriate and creative methodology to design and manage a research project. This may involve the use of quantitative and/or qualitative methods. The social research executive applies a variety of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews (face-to-face, telephone and online). The social research executive has to keep on developing and testing theories. He has to liaise with and directing social research field interviewers to gather information, and advise external bodies on social policy. The social research executive also has to conduct literature searches using electronic databases.

Most employers prefer a relevant social science discipline. Expertise in sociology, social policy, politics, psychology, or economics/business studies is preferable for the post.
