The Center for Labor Research and Studies at Florida International University just released new documents, entitled “The State of Working Florida, 2008.”

The article addresses individuals who are unemployed and highlights the following points:

1. Florida’s unemployment rate in July of 2008 was two percent higher when compared to 2007.

2. Workers’ wages in the state did not increase in 2007, and maintained a median average of $14.00 per hour.

3. The cost of living increased in the state and is now above the nation’s average.
