Equity Research Jobs description
Equity research analysts specialize in researching and evaluating the equities of companies in one industry. These analysts look at all the factors in the industry that influence the price of the companies' stocks and equity. They study new products, market prices, and other industry-wide trends. Equity research analysts study a company's financial status to see how much the company is earning compared with others in the industry and the major part of the investment market. Some equity research analysts visit the companies they are researching to interview the management. Equity research analysts compare the companies' investment reports with those of previous years and determine the changing factors and recommend them to the managing board of the company. Then they try to predict what will happen to the companies' earnings in the future with the overall idea of the equity report of the company. Equity research analysts increase the chances of making profitable decisions by getting the most accurate information available.Applicants for equity research analyst positions should have earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) in finance and marketing and should have a sound backing in investment of corporate finance. Analysts must understand corporate accounting to analyze finance statements.
